Burns is right. Just from what I ve seen, you re the glue with the
junior callers. They need you here more than I need you living with
me.
Nick wanted to be pissed, but damn if he didn t make sense. He
gave Chris a terse nod in agreement, even though he really wanted to
stay with him.
Burns walked into the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of wine and two
glasses, then started back out. He paused and looked to Boulder. Did
you tell them?
Boulder nodded.
Burns turned to Nick, his expression solemn. Something s
coming, Gust. Something big. I feel it. It s time to stop living in the
past like I have, or scared of what the future may or may not bring
like I tried to make everyone do. We need our family together to fight
whatever battle is coming.
Boulder said the same thing, Nick grumbled, not liking but
accepting the fact that he didn t get to live with Chris.
He s a wise man. Looks like we ll all be in the right place and
with the right person. Burns nodded at Boulder, who nodded back.
Then they both darted glances at Wind. Wind colored and dropped his
gaze.
Nick didn t know what happened between the three of them, only
that he d heard the other callers gossiping about how Burns and Wind
had a brief affair before Lee and Boulder came to the Farm. Nick
wondered if all the old feelings were really dead or not. It would be
interesting to watch that drama unfold.
Burns grinned, something the other callers rarely witnessed. I
don t know about you boys, but I m through with all the bullshit. I

have a date with the man I love and I m not going to waste a minute
of the present.
Words to definitely live by, Wind agreed. Gabe, my gorgeous
husband. Take me home and ravish me.
I thought you d never ask. Boulder grabbed Wind s hand and
dragged him out.
Nick glanced at Chris and smiled as the love surged inside him,
warming him. What do you say, handsome?
Chris strolled into Nick s arms and rested their lips together.
